The primary goals of the Federation will be to strengthen partnerships among fashion communities across different countries, promote sustainable industry practices, facilitate cultural exchange, support emerging professionals, and help designers in accessing the international market.

"The memorandum was signed by leaders of fashion and textile industry associations, as well as educational institutions from over 50 countries. These included representatives from Russia, India, South Africa, Ethiopia, Egypt, Malaysia, Ecuador, and Kenya, among many others. The creation of the International Federation is a major outcome of the recent BRICS+ Fashion Summit in Moscow. It demonstrates once again the shared goals and substantial potential for growth that we have with our global colleagues” stated Natalya Sergunina.

According to the Moscow Deputy Mayor, the signatories are dedicated to implementing new technologies, preserving cultural heritage, and promoting traditional handicrafts. They also plan to collaborate on information and educational projects.

The Memorandum states, "We are committed to supporting emerging brands in both local promotion and global expansion. Our goal is to promote sustainable and eco-friendly practices. Mindful production and consumption will be at the heart of the federation's agenda."

The BRICS International Fashion Federation is an inclusive organization. It extends an invitation to anyone who aligns with the principles and aspirations. Those interested in joining will need to submit an application.

" The need for such a fashionable alliance of developing countries is long overdue. The fashion world is focused on a few hundred global brands, so emerging markets need their own platform to make our voices heard," said Sunil Sethi, Chairman of the Fashion Design Council of India.

The BRICS+ Fashion Summit wrapped up last weekend in Moscow, gathering representatives from more than 100 countries. The event centered on international cooperation, support for local brands, technological advancements, investments, and various other topics.
