The forum welcomed designers, stylists, government officials, representatives of industry associations and the business community, university lecturers, journalists, and bloggers, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina.

“Over four seasons, the BRICS+ Fashion Summit has brought together participants from more than 100 countries – half the world’s countries. Every year, forum participants discuss the key issues shaping the industry. This year, the main focus was on how global economic, social, and technological transformations are affecting the fashion industry,” Natalia Sergunina said.

According to her, the Business Program included 26 Sessions. They focused on supporting local brands, new trends in the international market, attracting investment, the role of traditional crafts in the design industry, young people’s preferences, the use of artificial intelligence, and advanced materials.

The forum continued its tradition of hosting exhibitions showcasing the diverse cultures of Russia and the BRICS countries. The Khokhloma brand presented the Khokhloma x Russian Designers exhibition. The project’s main idea was to show, through collaboration with leading artists and designers, how contemporary clothing, accessories, furniture, and jewelry can draw inspiration from traditional crafts.

Thanks to previous seasons of the Summit, 23 Russian designers from across the country, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Ulan-Ude, Yakutsk, and Komsomolsk-on-Amur, received invitations to participate in industry events in different countries. They have already taken part in events in India, Tunisia, Costa Rica, South Africa, and Ethiopia.

Major events such as the BRICS+ fashion forum help promote Russian brands in international markets. Participants present their strengths and potential to one another, discuss promising ways to develop the industry, and agree on mutual support and new projects.

In 2024, a memorandum on the establishment of the BRICS International Fashion Federation was signed at the Summit. The federation comprises 60 countries.

Last year, the forum welcomed more than 260 professionals from 65 countries. Special sessions dedicated to South Africa and Brazil were also held. Visitors to the Native Motifs exhibition explored traditional costumes from across Russia and contemporary fashion looks inspired by them.

Letters of intent were also signed with the city of Rio de Janeiro and the organizers of Beijing Fashion Week. The agreements provide for long-term cultural and business partnerships.

The BRICS+ Fashion Summit is held as part of Moscow Fashion Week.
