The Khokhloma brand is bringing one of Russia’s most iconic symbols into the everyday life of the contemporary consumer, giving the traditional craft a new expression through modern forms and collaborations with leading artists and designers. The project’s main idea is to show that Khokhloma can be part of contemporary design today – from clothing and accessories to interiors, porcelain, furniture and jewellery.

“Khokhloma responds to the demand for Russianness, helps find new meanings and shape a contemporary interpretation of our own identity. For us, it is important that the tradition does not remain a museum object, but becomes part of contemporary culture, design and business. That is why we work with contemporary designers who help translate this cultural code into the language of today’s consumer. Among such projects are collaborations with Alena Akhmadullina and Dima Loginov, as well as the “Rhythm of Generations” panel created jointly with the PALATY gallery,” said Sofya Yudina, CEO of “Khokhloma”.

The Summit will feature the brand’s current collections as well as traditional wooden tableware. The exhibition will focus on pieces from a line created in collaboration with designer Alena Akhmadullina, including clothing and accessories. For this collection, she worked with archival materials, studied the history and ethnography of the craft, visited the Khokhloma Painting factory and worked closely with its artists. As a result, the traditional painting technique has been reinterpreted through contemporary clothing, furniture, tableware, jewellery and accessories.

The brand’s presentation at the BRICS+ Fashion Summit will demonstrate to an international audience that traditional folk art can be part of today’s design and fashion industries.

All the pieces displayed at the venue will be available for purchase directly from the brand’s space.

The BRICS+ Fashion Summit will be held as part of Moscow Fashion Week, taking place from September 26 to October 1, 2026, at the Central Exhibition Hall 'Manege'. Admission to all events is free with advance registration.
