International experts highlight the program’s strong potential and relevance. They note that the event offers a broader perspective on today’s global fashion industry, highlighting the creative, cultural, and manufacturing opportunities of fast-growing economies.
“I have taken part in the BRICS+ Fashion Summit in Moscow. The experience greatly enriched my understanding of the global fashion community and moved beyond viewing Western fashion systems as the sole benchmark. I witnessed the unique craft resources, design expressions and industrial priorities across BRICS and other emerging markets, where practitioners pursue home-grown fashion pathways rooted in their own cultural heritage instead of merely following mainstream trends,” said
Xie Fangming, Vice President of the China Fashion Association (China).
Antonio Alizzi, Professor at Rome Business School (Italy), highlighted the event’s role in fostering a multipolar perspective on the industry: “The BRICS+ Fashion Summit genuinely brings the Global South to the forefront, highlighting its creativity, cultural identities, and manufacturing capabilities. For European markets, which have too often viewed BRICS+ countries primarily as destinations for their products, the Summit offers an important lesson: these regions are not merely consumers, but active contributors with knowledge, creativity, and expertise to share. In this sense, it encourages more balanced relationships between emerging markets and established fashion economies.”
Representatives from more than 60 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and South America will participate in the Summit. Audiences in most of these countries will also have access to coverage of the event, as
RT, Russia’s international television network, available in more than 100 countries, will operate a television studio on site. RT operates nine news and documentary channels, as well as online and social media platforms in ten languages. Its current reach exceeds 950 million TV viewers and 40 billion views across social media.
The BRICS+ Fashion Summit will take place as part of Moscow Fashion Week, which will be held from September 26 to October 1 at Central Exhibition Hall ‘Manege’. Admission to all events is free
with advance registration.
